SHOP FLOOR CONTROL

The Shop Floor Control (SFC) program reduces Work-In-Process inventory as well as set-up and lead times through better priority control. The system tracks parts and labor of jobs throughout the shop and retains information on machine down time and utilization. The Shop Floor Control module also accepts information from bar code systems and other data acquisition techniques.

The Shop Floor Control module requires the INMASS/MRP Inventory Control, Bill of Materials, and Job Cost/Work-In-Process modules.

SFC explodes bill of materials through Work-In-Process and posts them to two ASCII files. The SFC module then uploads those ASCII files to job header and router files. Throughout its journey on the shop floor, a job's labor and quantities are posted and tracked by the SFC module. Once work-in-process jobs are finished, the transactions are posted to another ASCII file. This file is automatically uploaded to the WIP File Adjustments file in INMASS/MRP using the powerful scripting feature.
