GENERAL LEDGER


The INMASS/MRP General Ledger program is a double entry system designed to suit the needs of most manufacturing, wholesale, retail, and service-providing businesses. It offers considerable flexibility in financial statement formatting, yet its simple design makes it ideal for use by people who do not have extensive computer or accounting experience. This program integrates with INMASS/MRP Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll programs as well as with INMASS/MRP's manufacturing modules.


FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • Multi-Company: Separate records can be maintained for up to 100 companies, with up to 99 departments per company.
  • Flexible account numbering structure: Account numbers can contain up to 10 digits (alphanumeric), plus a two digit department number. (The system checks the existence of accounts to insure GAAP required accounts are present and graphically shows how they are to be totalled).
  • Flexible posting: Allows for automatic posting of recurring transactions and automatic reversing transactions. Allows for 12 or 13 accounting periods. As an option, the system allows posting to prior periods in the same fiscal year or prior year for adjustment to periods already closed.
  • Audit trail: If desired, all transactions can be kept as separate entries to the accounts for up to two years. As an alternative, the program can post a balance forward and clear all details at the end of each month.
  • Flexible Statement Formats: You control the location of section headings, single and double underlines, page breaks, and blank lines. Up to 7 levels of sub-totals are available. Maintains budget figures for each period of the current year, the prior year, and allows for the printing of comparative statements. (Accounts can be selected to not print if they have a zero balance).
  • Flexible Reports Format: You control the parameters of each report including departmental consolidation. Allows you to override standard report settings for special situations.
  • Balance Sheet: A three-column balance sheet format is used. You determine the column in which each account balance appears.
  • Income Statement: Each account balance is also shown as a percentage against a standard figure. That figure can be total sales, the balance of any assigned account, or a fixed amount of your choice.
  • Posting files created by Payables, Receivables and Payroll can be processed at any time - when created or held for month end.
  • On-Screen Inquiry: All transactions applied to an account can be displayed on the screen printed at any time.
  • Large field sizes: Dollar amounts of up to $9,999,999,999.99 are allowed with user defined decimal precision. Figures can be maintained to two decimal places and optionally shown as rounded to whole dollars.
  • Interfacing with outside programs: All data files can be converted to ASCII for use by outside data base managers, spreadsheets, etc.
  • All information is accessible by INQUIRE, the INMASS/MRP Report Generator.
